GOLI

Millions of children in America with exceptional gifts of intelligence, energy, and natural and nurtured talent happen to be economically disadvantaged.  The poorer these children are in this sense, the less likely the world will be enriched by their human capital because the greater the chance that their gifts will not be adequately recognized or organizationally supported. Although it may take a village to raise a child, it takes more than many “villages” are able to provide to get a child from the village to a position of global influence.

The Global Opportunity Leadership Institute (GOLI) identifies exceptionally capable young people who happen to be economically disadvantaged and 1) connects them with other young people like themselves and 2) bridges them to enhanced educational resources that they would not likely have without programmatic intervention.

Our goal is to recruit, inspire, and organizationally support a corps of intellectually gifted and emotionally educated young people from socio-economically disadvantaged backgrounds across the United States.  Our current programming occurs in Chicago and its neighboring suburbs.  We are seeking to expand our geographical range of operations by harnessing personal, public, and corporate support.
